Our Mission

Savard Northern Press was founded on one simple principle: Art is not disposable. An artist's work deserves to be preserved, and collectors deserve an edition that will stand out on their bookshelf, and stand the test of time. All of our books are hardcover editions, bound in cloth, leather, or something more exotic. Our design and production takes place stateside, and our books are intended to stand the test of time.

Every book we make is produced with the intention of preserving beloved works in a large format that the owner would feel happy passing down a generation later.

The Craft

Each Savard Northern Press edition begins with a deep respect for the source material. We work closely with artists, colorists, and rights holders to ensure that every page faithfully represents their vision—often with enhancements only possible in our premium format. Our translations are gone over with a fine toothed comb in order to ensure a smooth read for native english readers.

Our bookbinders draw upon techniques refined over generations: Smith sewn blocks, leather that's vegetable-tanned and hand-dyed, foil stamping, embossing and debossing. Acid free paper to avoid yellowing, and laminated colour pages. All before a final sign off by the artist. The result is a volume that feels substantial in your hands—a physical embodiment of the weight these stories carry in our imaginations.

For Collectors

We understand collectors because we are collectors. We know the particular satisfaction of a perfectly bound spine, the subtle pleasure of quality paper beneath fingertips, the pride of displaying volumes that guests can't help but notice and admire.

Every decision we make—from paper weight to ribbon color to the depth of debossing—is made with the collector's experience in mind. These are books meant to be read and held, certainly, but also to be treasured, displayed, and ultimately passed down through generations.

Our Values

The principles that guide every volume we create

Respect for the Art

We never cut corners. Every material is selected bespoke for that title, with respect given to tone and theme

Respect for the Artist

We work as partners with artists and publishers, ensuring their work is honored as they intend.

Respect for the Reader

Our editions are meant to be read. Depths of blacks, colours, and format are all taken into account.

Respect for Legacy

We create books built to endure—not for years, but for generations of readers yet to come.
